I've got some thoughts!
Hey y'all,
I know it's been a long time since I posted here or at my erstwhile and doomed blog. But I'm a busy woman! Who has no thoughts!
Regarding Politics:
I know I'm a week late and dollar short, but I wanted to say how happy I am about Obama's election. I had really lost hope there at the end for some reason and was resigned to four years of wincing every time Palin opened her mouth. I was overwhelmed as I sat work refreshing CNN like junkie searching for the last gram of coke and saw the votes rolling in. It was incredible to see the amount of people that turned out and spoke their minds.
Of course, the rider was the disappointing decision in California. I know other states passed ridiculous laws, but at least those were states that you knew would pass them. California? What are you doing? Even the Terminator was pissed! Connecticut is now more progressive then you. That's right, you got shown up by the Constitution State.
I've been thinking about going back to school. It's just in the infant seeds now, but it's becoming obvious that librarinship may not have the beautiful future described to me in the introductory material from my masters program. Anyone have any thoughts on this? I would like to stay in the general area and it would need to be part-time as I would have to work to support my sorry ass.
Regarding TV:
Heros: What. The. Hell. You all suck. Bring back Molly! And Mohinder pre-freaky spider stuff.
House: Have not been watching as a Wilson-less House leaves me without hope for the future.
Daily Show: Well done election coverage. Kudos to you Jon for continuing to be awesome.
Top Design: You picked the most deserving contestant... are you not aware you're a reality show?
VH1- I've actually finally stopped watching their reality programming. Since I found out that Holly broke it off with Hef, my reality show heart has stopped beating.
Regarding books:
I've gone back to my slapdash days of being in the middle of three or four at once. I did read an awesome, famous and deeply disturbing novel called The Carnivorous Lamb. Read at your own risk, it contains some pretty heavy incest between brothers. It's meant to be a very deep commentary on Spain Civil war and the church. It's beautifully written, very dream like and lyrical. That was my deep reading for the month.
My light reading has been ranging all over. Nothing I would enthusiastically recommend to anyone else.
Regarding knitting:
I'm having knitter's ADD, start a project, put it down, start another.
Regarding work:
Looking, every hopeful to for a new full-time position. This schedule is not my favorite. I can see the appeal of being a stay at home mom right now. Not that I'm ready for kids.
I love you all!
